*Edit: Transferred most of her history and info to here, with partial updates! To the kind AE folks, I'm sorry I wasn't able to stick around as much as I hoped. School and personal projects caught up with me, and from here on out I'll be developing Jeq and her own story when possible. It's gonna be epic, I say! And hopefully it will come to fruition. xDD;; (Because c'mon, I worked too hard on her creation and her world to throw it away psshh -shot-)

Species: Wvernien (pron. VEHR-nyehn; plural - Wvernii)

_{A wvernien's hearing is very keen, but also sensitive. To protect their hearing, their ears can expand and fold at will, like a bat's wing. This also helps protect their hearing when underwater.
The white spot in the middle of their mask-like faces is actually their nose. Their eyes are in fact the side markings of their face.
The mouth opens along their chinline.
Speech is actually produced from their tail buds, which is also where their brain is located.
Below their kneecaps, their legs are coated with a durable exoskeleton that enables them protection and strength.}


World: Vang'sinn (pron. VANG-sheen)

The wide, oceanic surface of Vang'sinn is coated with small but numerous continents, climates ranging from open marshes to thick swamps. All species, even land and flying, have evolved from aquatic roots in some way.
Civilizations were established numerous centuries ago and grew as the most intellectual races evolved in power, knowledge, and especially technology. This included machines, advanced transportation and equipment.
The universal language of Vang'sinn is Lyen'grn (Leeyan-grin), which also spawns several dialects. [*Imagine a combination of French and Vietnamese, and those dialects are similar to European accents including Spanish, Scottish, and Russian. There you go. Don't forget to roll your r's.]
Out of all the civilizations in the world, small or large, there were six seperate captials in total. One of them, Uukern (YUU kerng), was especially known for its outstanding military order, scholars, and various forms of performing arts. It was also known to have a very strict law and power over its people; every civilian had to meet high standards in order to live well and prosperous. Those who could not meet the requirements or were unapproved by the law were assigned by the Council to carry out menial occupations such as assembling weaponry or serving the noblefolks.
All youths are trained in fields including combat, academic reading and writing, and numerous electives ranging from theatre, sports, and strategy-based games. Those who aim to be soldiers or scholars continue their education for an extended period. Afterwards, the Council decides each graduate's position based on their stats. The strongest soldiers and most erudite scholars are granted more privileges and are eligible to live among the prosperous. Additionally, they were also granted special positions by the Council.

Story:
_{Born the middle child of five, Jequirity came out, well, a little crooked. Her left ear was bent awkwardly and her tail was significantly a twisted, irregular shape. The doctors did their best to straighten her tail as much as they could. It was too risky to perform surgery to fix her ear as an infant, and so they decided to wait until she's matured fully. Otherwise, Jequirity seemed perfectly healthy.
Growing up, her family gradually learned Jequirity had some . . . learning problems. Having had trouble reading and identifying words as a child, she took the longest to learn basic vocabulary yet still couldn't string her words properly at the appropriate age. Her comprehension was slow, attention span flimsier than parchment. Her siblings and cousins have turned to avoiding or ignoring her because they assumed she was "too stupid" or "difficult to play with."
As a rather energetic, easily distracted sprout, she was very much the school troublemaker. The instructors have continuously reported that she was disorderly, rambunctious, distracted, incapable of grasping abstract or solid ideas, and overall considered a hazard. She ended up being cut from combat classes due to her wild and unpredictable behaviour.
Eventually, around nine years of age, she started taking individualized lessons under specialized mentors. She began to gradually improve in at least communication and to a moderate extent in comprehension. The development did not drastically change her habits but it was sufficient enough for her to act somewhat more dignified. (The private mentors admit that trying to get her to do something right was incredibly exhausting.)}

Personality:
+ Gregarious; She's timid at first to strangers, as "moving faces" are still an unusual and uncanny concept to her. She'll warm up over time if she likes you enough, and is more than happy to be with someone who likes her back.

+ Truthful; "Truth earns the speaker the rewarding spirit; lying leads to shameful consequences." --Anonymous (Famous quote in Uukern) 

+ Determined; Although she has trouble following instructions, she does her best to carry out orders and follow people's advice. She's going to need a lot of guidance to do so effectively, but she'll do what it takes to get something right. 
+/- Zealous; She's always on the go and full of life. She can never remain stationery, and her tendency for constant moving may cause a ruckus. In fact, she's adept at scaling heights, squeezing through spaces, hiding, and whatever else that requires environmental adaptation. Her tireless effort is outstanding. 
+/- Inquisitive; prone to asking many questions, even if the answer is obvious. She may even recklessly meddle and can be very inconsiderate about people's emotions or personal space.

- Easily confused; The more confused she gets, the worse her stuttering is. She can get very nervous or scared if this pursues.

- Easily scared; Not only does this apply to being startled by sudden or unfamiliar noises due to her sensitive ear, but also when faced with someone of authority or a higher position, particularly if she's in trouble or has done something wrong. 

- Absent-minded; If there's something she can't grasp, and if no one's noticing, her attention will wanter off and she'll be distracted by something else. Multiple times, out of curiousity, she'll walk off to observe something. Sometimes this action ends badly and with consequences. 

**Important Traits/Notes:
Her hair is styled in dreadlocks.
Her left ear is bent and can't fold properly.
Because of her original dialect, she sounds like she has a strong Spanish accent.
She stutters a lot and often pauses mid-sentence. Her tail twitches and agitates a lot in doing so.
She can't read very well and has trouble pronouncing long words. Often she has to carefully pronounce someone's name to get it to sound decent.
The tail is always going to look irregular and distorted in shape.

Likes: pickles, peaches, sour foods, sweets, EATING, playing outdoors
Dislikes: pickles, the "moving faces", anger (it gets her nervous)

Other: I'm pretty sure if she saw a human or any creature from our world, she'd start having panic attacks about how our faces move. Actually, anyone from Vang'sin would have heart attacks in such a scenario . . .
